Join us and our guest speaker, Judith Cohen, Chief Acquisitions Curator at the USHMM, to learn more about an expansive collection based in the US capital and how it's grown.
The collection of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC is one of the world's most comprehensive collections of Holocaust documentation. However, the scope and breadth of the collection was not foreseen when the Museum was first conceived. The Museum began its collection in order to illustrate the narrative permanent exhibition. However, over time the collection evolved and expanded to memorialize individual survivors and to also support research for scholars from around the world.
